this was a wonderful game the music was wonderful the style was interesting and fun making a living world i was just really really bad at platformer games but i did persist dying again and again but i only missed 5 music fragments
Launches fine but I can't get past "Press the A button" on the title screen. Other games recognize my controller no problem but this one isn't working. And it seems not to recognize any mouse/keyboard input either. Any suggestions?
Have you pluged the controler before launching the game ? You can still play with keyboard and mouse but you will have to move with ZQSD and the space bar is considered as the A button. We didn't had the chance to bring custom keyboard controls, sorry about that.
As Martin said you can play with mouse and keyboard, here is the list of the in-game controls:
The game was developed with a French keyboard! Thus your traditional WASD keys won't be functioning properly. Please install a French keyboard first, then switch your keyboard and you will be ready to go!
Mouse Left button: Poke action (using you violin bow, can be performed in various directions: up / down / left / right pressing ZSQD respectively)
Z: up input for violin bow use
Q: run towards the left / violin bow use towards the left
S: down input for violin bow use
D: run towards the right / violin bow use towards the right A: Play your violin (Y input on a Xbox Controller)
Space bar: jump (analogical, the longer you press, the higher you jump)
P: Pause Menu (presse again to exit menu)
Space bar in-menu: Confirm
We suggest you make sure you plugged your controller before launching Symphonia and if you are playing with a PS4 controller, maybe installing DS4WINDOWS might help.
This game is absolutely amazing!!!! i loved every second of it between the creative controls, amazing hand drawn backgrounds, and the ANIMATION this game is not only gorgeous to look at but is an absolute blast to play!
This game is absolutely gorgeous, has beautiful sound, and is a ton of fun to play!!! Are you guys planning on either making more linear style levels like this game had or perhaps even thinking about making it a more "Metroidvania" style game? Either way I would absolutely pay full price for that! Great job all!
We are glad you liked our game :) We definitely have some ideas for the future of SYMPHONIA and as you point it out, these options are conceivable, considering the time and means we could gather.
The team still has to transition from the student initial release and since a large part of the team is already tackling other projects we will take our time to make headway on SYMPHONIA.
A particular platform game, our protagonist will have to move with the violin bow to stick to the walls to jump from one part to the other. During the adventure we will see beautifully made scenarios of machinery related to steampunk style music. The music that accompanies the game is done really well. I love it
Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot to us. We are still reflecting and gauging our options, but considering the amount of positive reviews, there definitely is a will to carry on with Philemon ;)
Hi, I am not 100% but when i first plugged it in it didnt work then i restarted the game then replugged in my controller and its working fine. I am using an Xbox360 controller. However the odd thing is that its showing my controller as 2nd player and not 1st. so im not sure about that. Hopefully this was helpful for you.
Thank you for your comment :) Here are the controls for a keyboard and mouse gameplay
This being said, the game was developed with a French keyboard! Thus your traditional WASD keys won't be functioning properly. Please install a French keyboard first, then switch your keyboard and you will be ready to go!

As a platform jumping game lover, I like this game very much. I read the introduction of the game on Weibo in China and downloaded it and tried it. Art-style music is my favorite type. And it feels so bright, I hope you can play your official game in the future. I am a Chinese player. My English is not good, so I can only leave a message through translation software. Sorry
Really pretty game! It's short, but that's just let me wanting to play it over again and see if I can get all the notes this time.
I don't play platformers a lot, nor am I especially good at it, and I was using a cheap controller since I also never play with a controller. All those things in mind there were a few points where I found the control a little more sluggish than I would have liked - but it was only a few small sections and with so many other factors I'd have a hard time saying if its me or the game.
I'd love to see this concept expanded to a larger project, and would def pick it up if there were one! It really has the look and concept for a "real" game by a publisher, my first thought certainly wouldn't have been that it was a student game! <3
Edit: Oh and... I tried playing with a keyboard and the default binds were pretty funny - for anyone else looking its not just "designed for controller" like a lot of games, controller is mandatory. But its worth picking up the controller to play if you've got one around the house!
There is this short survey you can take to let us know a bit more in detail about your feedback. It will not take more than 4 to 5 minutes.
Regarding the controls we have already given the explanation, we mapped the actions with a French keyboard. Thus you only need to install a French keyboard on your and to switch to it.
You can find the listed controls down below on this page. We can assure you that the game can be played with a keyboard and mouse! Some of us have insane speedrun times with this configuration :)
Great game! Beautiful music, beautiful art. I became happy because there were many motifs related to music. It was quick, easy and fun to retry. I really want to play the full version!
It is very nice of you to share your gameplay here :)
Too bad none of us truly speaks and understands Japanese. This being said we are happy to watch your reactions, and your obtained a great score in the end, well played!
I've been playing videogames since 1985 and this might just be the most beautiful thing I've ever played. Seriously, there were a few instances when I smacked my gob at how arrestingly gorgeous the whole thing looked.
I need this to become a full fledged game that I can spend a few hundred hours on :3
The controls are pretty creative and slick, the platforming feels challenging but fair, the checkpointing is on point, and the art (visuals, animation and music) is to die for.
It is a beautiful game with many details,, it is a pleasure to go through the levels and see how everything is animated little by little from the bottom to the front. The mechanics of the game and playing your instrument is great and the music is extraordinary. Unfortunately I could not finish it, I had many problems with the controls, which resulted in dying and having to find the button operation again. Suddenly they didn't want to work, or they did just the opposite. I admire your game and I don't know if mentioning this problem will help you in any way.
I think the game is well thought out, although I still don't understandwhat are they for the robots that only raise their arms.
I'm excited to know the progress with the game. uwu
Thank you for your review. You know as long as a comment is thought through and detailed it always help :) Thus can you be a bit more specific as to what happened with the controls in the end of your playthrough? (Where did it start happening and in which specific situation? Herein below is a very short survey about SYMPHONIA, let us know!
The robots have been awakened by Philemon (they were asleep beforehand) and they are either waving to say "hi" or jumping on the spot as they are happy to see you and to be awake once again :)
We will keep you posted on our social networks, stay tuned!
This game looks absolutely stunning. But I have a problem. I noticed that in a reply to another comment, you said that it was developed with either a french keyboard and mouse, or an XBOX controller in mind. I use a laptop, and only have the QWERTY layout, while this game expects a AZERTY layout. I don't have any XBOX controllers either. I'm sad I cannot play this game properly. That being said, a keybinding option in the settings menu would be appreciated, but I understand that may not be possible. I'm not sure if I can install french keyboard inputs, I checked my settings and it only accepts english for some reason. Nevertheless, I think what I could play of this game is beautiful and well thought out.
Unfortunately this game was developped when we were all students at ISART DIGITAL, and we cannot modify the uploaded build. Although we agree with you on a KeyBinding option in the menu, nothing can be done!
This was a beautiful game! It has an amazing feel and of course, I love the music.
The controls were challenging in the beginning, but they were easier and easier to use the more I continued on. It was a short, but amazing game and I've already recommended it to many different people. Truly a work of art, so hats off to you guys. :)
Thank you very much, you make our day :) It is crucial that SYMPHONIA gets as much attention as possible, the more feedback we receive, the better our choices and upcoming project will be!
Amazing game, love the details and the layered sections that really give you a feeling of being so small, the music and mechanics was interesting to play through, I'd love to play more, but I also understand how much effort and work comes with making a game as beautiful as this!
Thanks for giving me the chance to experience this game, I can't wait to check out your other works :)
Magnifique !
The game is exciting, fun and satisfying ... a game like this does not come around very often and wow! It has certainly delivered an experience that leaves such a positive impact on you.
The aesthetics are amazing and there are so many layers of depth going on in both the foreground and back ground, there are so many beautiful things to look at and there are even instruments woven into the scenery if you look hard enough.
The gameplay itself is really smooth, fluid and intuitive and you can play with ease, it has been well thought out and having more than one way to traverse obstacles is a really nice touch.
The soundtrack is also incredible both within the world of Symphonia and the solo pieces that Philemon plays , you really feel connected to everything within the game.
The only negative point is that it was too short ! However as the game gets some more love and attention it is bound to develop more, a really fantastic masterpiece.
Thank you very much for playing our game, for sharing your gameplay and most of all for your amazing review!
You paid attention to nearly all details and layers, that is a first. And you had a perfect run, such a flawless performance if I dare say :)
The game does get love and attention, we are trying to share our piece of work as much as we can, and we are working on further possibilities for the team and SYMPHONIA.
Hello, this game looks absolutely stunning! the artwork makes me drool and the atmosphere is magical. But i have a problem, I play using my PC, and i don't have a controller. and because of that the controls are really hard to figure out (i can't figure out what i should press to let him stand on the red matted wall ;-;). What can I do about this problem? or is there no way? :(
I REALLY want to play your game so it would be amazing if you could tell me if there's a way to play it on PC. Thank you.
Actually there are keyboard inputs :) This game was designed for the Nintendo Switch initially, that's why we highly recommend playing with a controller.
Nonetheless if you wish to play with your keyboard AND your mouse, here are the inputs. You will need your mouse to play! I need to warn you, we are French, thus we developed the game with French keyboard inputs! (just install a French keyboard on your computer and switch inputs, it is simple)
Mouse Left button: Poke action (using you violin bow, can be performed in various directions: up / down / left / right pressing ZSQD respectively) Z: up input for violin bow use Q: run towards the left / violin bow use towards the left S: down input for violin bow use D: run towards the right / violin bow use towards the right A: Play your violin (Y input on a Xbox Controller) Space bar: jump (analogical, the longer you press, the higher you jump) P: Pause Menu (presse again to exit menu)
GLHF !
We did our best to offer a platforming experience that would allow a larger amount of players to enjoy our game without too much frustration. It there were to be a bigger version of SYMPHONIA, we could have more room with the platforming difficulty :)

Hello there !
It is perfectly understandable, no worries!
Than you for your comment :)
Cheers!
This game is amazing! You should make a longer version and release it on steam! I would pay top price for a full-length version of this!
Hello !
We are really pleased by your comment, thank you.
It strengthens our will to do more. Yet we still are tackling this matter over within the team.
We will let you know on our social networks, so do not hesitate to follow SYMPHONIA there!
Cheers!
My goodness this game is a masterpiece. Are there plans to make more? Need to fill a hole.
Hello there !
Thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot to us.
We are still reflecting and gauging our options, but considering the amount of positive reviews, there definitely is a will to carry on with Philemon ;)
Stay tuned, cheers !
I simply cannot state how much I enjoyed this game, and I'm amazed that it came from anything other than a fully-fledged studio!
Thankyou for the experience.
Hello Oxy !
Wow what an incredibly positive and pleasant review right there :)
We are delighted you had a great time with Philemon!
Stay tuned for our upcoming news and thank you for your great gameplay!
Cheers :)
Hey,
Do you have advice to make the xbox controller working in the game please ? Pluging it doesn't seem to be enough to make it works for me.
Hello there!
Thank you for your comment.
I suggest you try plugging in your controller before launching the game.
SYMPHONIA was developped with a controller-oriented gameplay, and we rarely encountered problems connected to the former.
Let us know if you could play in the end
Cheers
Hey unfortunately not.. No way to make the controller working
c'est bien, c'est bon, c'est beau, ca se mange sans fin
Bonjour !
Merci beaucoup :)
Hey! I am playing w/ keyboard and mouse-is there a list of controls for such?

Ah that makes sense with the different keyboard! Maybe I'll try it that way next :) Thank you for the reply!
I also just wanted to say I found the game via a twitch streamer I know mentioning it, since that wasn't an option on the survey!
Great game! Beautiful music, beautiful art.
I became happy because there were many motifs related to music.

Thanks again and stay tuned for our next news and posts!
Would you think build for ios?
Hello!
If you wonder if we can provide an iOS build of SYMPHONIA then unfortunately we cannot.
The game has been developed for a PC running Windows and is the only version available.
Nonetheless we are analysing our possibilities for the upcoming months.
Stay tuned :)
Beautiful, I loved it
Short but challenging and easy to understand
I want more

It is crucial that SYMPHONIA gets as much attention as possible, the more feedback we receive, the better our choices and upcoming project will be!
Cheers for recommending our game!
Hello there!
Wow, such a great comment! We are delighted you liked the game, it was indeed quite tiresome to pay attention to all details but it was worth it :)
Cheers!
Beautyful game!
Pretty fun mechanic :D
Hello there!
Thank you very much, glad you liked it :)
Hello Nelly!
Stay tuned, cheers!
Thank you.
Hello there!
Thank you for your comment!
Mouse Left button: Poke action (using you violin bow, can be performed in various directions: up / down / left / right pressing ZSQD respectively)
Z: up input for violin bow use
Q: run towards the left / violin bow use towards the left
S: down input for violin bow use
D: run towards the right / violin bow use towards the right
A: Play your violin (Y input on a Xbox Controller)
Space bar: jump (analogical, the longer you press, the higher you jump)
P: Pause Menu (presse again to exit menu)
Space bar in-menu: Confirm
Hi there. Is there any way I can keybind them to what I prefer? Thanks
This really game me Rayman vibes and the music is lovely! Great work! 🙌🏻
Hi!
Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed the game :D
Don't worry about your progression, you've still gone a long way in the game, well done!

This was super AWESOME ! ! !
Hello there!
Thank you very much :)
That is a great score for a first run. Nice video, we are pleased to know you enjoyed SYMPHONIA!
Cheers!
Great job. The platforming is on the easy side, but the art and sound design are top notch. Looking forward to the future works of this team!
Hello!
Thank you, it means a lot!
We did our best to offer a platforming experience that would allow a larger amount of players to enjoy our game without too much frustration.
It there were to be a bigger version of SYMPHONIA, we could have more room with the platforming difficulty :)
Cheers!
